Bearfoot Canada had its roots as a cooperative effort by over 30 nature-based tour businesses from throughout the Okanagan, Shuswap, Similkameen and Monashee seeking to develop environmentally responsible adventure and eco-tourism in British Columbia.
Today as a non-governmental organization it is an independent business network that focuses on helping small family owned businesses achieve success though both advocacy and business services that includes accessible marketing programs.
The people that make up Bearfoot Canada understand that retaining natural habitat through action and education is key to keeping the Canadian wilderness experience alive, and that by nurturing meaningful partnerships with community-based organizations, environmental groups, government and business we can help to protect and enhance the places where we work and play.
